Christopher and Norah are classically trained jewelers with over a decade of industry experience working with prestigious designers. The couple met and fell in love with each other and the trade at New Approach School for Jewelers in Tennessee. Idle Hands Fine Jewelry is their shared vision of elevated jewelry meant for the special moments in your life. Their passion lies in the care and attention to detail that is required to make truly remarkable jewelry.

 

 

Chris O'Brien

Christopher was always a creative but found his home when he started working with metal and gemstones. Chris was classically trained at New Approach School for Jewelers, and further honed his skills studying with masters across the country. His expertise lies in crafting intricate, timeless heirlooms using both centuries-old techniques and modern technology. He has had the opportunity to train with Jeff Parke, as well as Sam Alfano and Todd Daniels at the GRS training center. Specializing in Hand Engraving, Goldsmithing, and Stone Setting, Chris merges traditional artistry with contemporary methods to produce stunning jewelry.

Norah O'Brien

Norah has explored many artistic mediums throughout her life, but it was her passion for fashion and gemstones that led her to the world of jewelry. In 2018, she took her first jewelry job in her hometown of Nashville, TN. After intensive training at New Approach in 2020, her journey took her to Milwaukee and Seattle, where she worked under master jewelers, constantly expanding her skillset. She has developed an eye for the intricate details that bring a piece to life. She is endlessly inspired by the way light dances across diamond and gemstone facets, as well as the rich textures of metal.

Leonard "Lenny" O'Brien

Leonard is our shop dog and resident good boy.
